John is a graduate of University of Toronto and has been serving the community of Oshawa for over 42 years. John enjoys kite boarding, cycling and Formula 1 racing. Above all John enjoys spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Dr. Grace Yuen
Dr. Grace attended McMaster University for her Bachelor of Health Science Honours degree with distinction. She completed her Doctor of Dental Surgery with distinction at the University of Western Ontario, where she was hounoured with a prestigious award for crown and bridge from the Toronto Academy of Dentistry.
Dr. Grace has built her practice with an emphasis on compassionate and conservative dentistry. In the past, Dr. Grace has travelled to remote dental clinics in Paraguay and Brazil with mobile dental units and medications on a boat, to provide dental care for the less fortunate. Today, Dr. Grace remains an active participant in a volunteer organization called Health Mission Outreach where she provides dental care for the underprivileged in the Greater Toronto Area. While providing dental care for the poor in makeshift clinics has its challenges, these meaningful experiences have helped Dr. Grace discover her passion in rebuilding smiles.
Dr. Grace is proud to have served her patients for over six years, and is well –versed as a caring, professional provider of all dental services, with a strong focus on rebuilding smiles conservatively. Your smile is a reflection of who you are and is many times the first and most lasting impression you make on others. Dr. Grace believes that everyone deserves a healthy smile and strives to work with patients to achieve that!
In her spare time, Dr. Grace enjoys scuba diving, piano playing, curling up with a good book, and above all, spending time with family and friends.
Registered Dental Hygienist
Elaina joined our team in September of 2010. Her sparkling compassionate personality has won over the most anxious patients. Elaina loves spending time with her husband and new baby girl. She enjoys all sports including baseball, snowmobiling and four wheeling.
Dr. Stephanie Shum
Before her career as a dentist, Dr. Stephanie Shum worked as a teacher where she developed a passion for working with children. That passion has carried over into her dental practice. Dr. Shum’s warm demeanour and vivid story telling make dental visits a comfortable and calming experience for all her patients but especially children. Prior to joining our clinic Dr. Shum practiced in Brooklin, and Whitby where she continues to hold her part-time position as head of the dental department at Ontario Shores Hospital Centre. Dr. Shum is looking forward to working with patients at Maxwell Heights Dental to help them establish healthy and confident smiles.
Wendy has worked with the practice for over 35 years. She is currently working at home as an administrator. In Wendy’s spare time you can find her at the gym, walking the dogs, cooking or gardening. She is a devoted mother and loves spending time with her grandchildren.
Chelcie joined our team in May 2012 after graduating from Durham College. She is a perfect fit for our team! Chelcie is a member of Peterborough Synchronized Skating Team. Chelcie enjoys cottage life, shopping and socializing with her friends.
Sue has worked for MHD for 5 years. Sue’s professionalism and dental knowledge are major assets to our growing clinic. When not at work you can find Sue baking, exercising and travelling.

Lori is a Certified Dental Assistant who brings 25 years of experience to our office. Her compassion and empathy towards our clients and desire to build long lasting relationships is a wonderful asset to our team.
When not at work Lori enjoys spending time with her family, and friends. Lori also loves to travel.
Dr. Roland Leung
DDS , PHD PERIODONTICS
Dr. Roland Leung earned his Honours Bachelor of Science with distinction in Immunology followed by a Master of Science degree at the University of Toronto. He completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree with distinction at the University of Western Ontario. Dr. Leung returned to the University of Toronto to complete his specialty training in Periodontics combined with a PhD in bone biology, during which he published in top-rated scientific journals. Dr. Leung is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and a member of the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario. He offers a full range of periodontal services including dental implant therapy, gum grafting, treatment of advanced gum disease, and bone grafting.
Wendy has worked with John for 22 years. Educating patients on the importance of dental health and providing solutions for all clients is her passion. Making a difference in people’s lives has proved to a very satisfying profession. Wendy loves spending time with her family.
Kimberly Hay-Esquivel is a graduate from the Dental Hygiene Advanced Diploma program at Durham College, where she attended to pursue her passion in dental hygiene. She is a member of the Canadian Dental Hygienists Association and Ontario Dental Hygienists Association.
Her easygoing personality and empathetic nature make her appreciated by patients.
Kimberly is excited to work with you, dedicated to share her knowledge and focus on oral health and gum disease to help improve and maintain your overall health.
Outside of work, Kimberly likes to spend time with her family and friends, enjoys the outdoors and is passionate about travel.
Nicole has been a RDH since 1982. Nicole has worked for
Dr. Neil for over 17 years.
She loves spending time in her garden, watching sports and family occasions.
Nicole enjoys spending time with her 5 grand daughters, one set of triplets and 1 set of twins.
